TNT Group Run

Tuesday Night Trail Runs (TNT) are our weekly, no-pressure trail meetups built around community, consistency, and getting a little happily muddy. We meet every Tuesday evening at Whipple Creek Park for a group trail run with both shorter and longer route options, making it easy for walkers, new trail runners, and experienced runners to all join in.

To help everyone get more comfortable on the trails, we keep the same route for the entire month, giving runners a chance to learn Whipple Creek a little better each week and build confidence on familiar terrain. A GPX file of the monthly route is available here on the website so you can load it onto your watch or device.

And if you’re new to trail running and have no idea how to load a GPX file yet, that’s totally okay. That’s part of what this group is for — learning new skills, making friends, and having fun on the trails together. We also encourage runners to branch out and connect with others in similar pace groups so nobody has to run alone unless they want to.

It’s also worth remembering that most runners aren’t the ones you see on podiums or flying around the track. Most runners are just like you — balancing busy lives, running similar paces, and often worried they might be the slowest person there. That’s exactly why showing up matters. Many runners are waiting for someone at their pace to be there first. When you show up, it makes it easier for someone else to do the same.

Headlamps are still required this time of year, and we run rain or heavy rain (LOL). If not having a headlamp or adequate trail shoes is what’s stopping you from showing up, please reach out — we’ll help you get what you need so you can join us.

What to expect
• Tuesday evening group trail runs at Whipple Creek Park
• Short and long route options each week
• Same monthly route to build trail familiarity
• All paces welcome — runners and walkers
• A welcoming community ready to help you learn and grow on the trails

Come join us for a run, a walk, or your first step into trail running. Mud, miles, and good company included.

This months route is 2.75 miles long, two times round for those that want longer.

Mt. Tabor Trim the Tree Stairs Challenge

Get ready for one of the most joyful, quirky, wildly lung burning holiday traditions around. The Mt. Tabor Stairs Challenge is back and it all begins with a bare Christmas tree waiting at the top of the stairs. Your mission is to help turn that lonely tree into a fully decked out holiday masterpiece, one stair climb at a time.

This is not a race(or is it). This is a full vibe. A community challenge that mixes holiday cheer, a whole lot of cardio, and a festive mission to decorate the tree overlooking Portland from the top of Mt. Tabor.

Here is how it works.
Participants begin at the bottom of the stairs where a box of ornaments and our spinning Wheel of Holiday Cheer are waiting. Give the wheel a spin and you will be assigned your challenge for the round. Sometimes you will get off easy. Sometimes you will be hauling Santa’s weighted sack to the top. Sometimes you will be giving out high fives or taking the stairs two at a time. All part of the fun.

Once your challenge is revealed, grab an ornament and climb to the iconic Mt. Tabor steps. At the top, hang your ornament on the bare tree and help bring it to life. Enjoy the view, cheer on your friends, then head back down for round two. You can repeat as many rounds as you want. We finish once the tree is fully decorated and glowing with holiday spirit.

When everyone has completed their final climb, we gather for a group photo at the top and celebrate with cookies, coffee, and plenty of laughter.

This event is free, festive, and open to all levels. Whether you are a seasoned runner looking for a creative workout or someone who loves holiday fun with a side of sweat, we would love to have you join us.

Grab your gloves, lace your shoes, and meet us at Mt. Tabor for the 3rd Annual Stairs Challenge. The holidays are brighter and a whole lot fitter when we climb them together.

When the sun goes down, the fun begins. Every Tuesday night, our TNT crew hits the Whipple Creek trails for an evening run (or hike!) that’s casual, social, and always an adventure. We offer both a short and long route, that stays the same all month long so you can move at your own pace and learn the park in the dark!

Headlamps are a must — and we highly encourage colorful lights, glow vests, and anything that shines! One of the best parts of running TNT is seeing the sparkle of your friends’ lights weaving through the trees — it’s like a moving constellation of runners out there.

Rain or shine, we show up. All paces welcome. Come for the miles, stay for the laughs, and bring your glow. ✨

Group Run + Trailhead Tailgate

Group Run + Trailhead Tailgate Lunch

Sunday, August 10th we’re meeting at Elk Creek Trailhead to hit the Wilson River Trail. Out-and-back format, so you choose your adventure—4 miles, 10 miles, 20 miles, 30 miles… whatever your training calls for. We’ve got runners dialing it in for half marathons, marathons, 50k’s, 100-milers and others just out to get some solid trail time.

Start times will vary based on your mileage—plan your run so you finish around noon and meet back at the trailhead parking lot for lunch.

When you’re done with your miles, we’ll regroup at the trailhead for a tailgate lunch, which is probably why most of us are there anyway. Let’s see how many hotdogs Scott and Mikey can cook at once without them disappearing into their mouths, while we soak our feet in the creek and politely avoid Jess’s “salad contribution.”

It’s going to be a warm one, but Elk Creek is right there for an ice-cold foot soak while you eat, swap stories, and revel in the miles. Dirt, sweat, good food, and even better company—that’s how we do Sundays.

TNT Group Run + Social Dinner

First Tuesday of the Month – Tuesday Night Trail Run & Social Hour

Kick up some dirt with us at the Tuesday Night Trail Run—a social group run/walk for trail lovers of all paces. We’ve got a 3-mile and 6-mile option, and if you’re new to trails or just trail-curious, you’re in the right place. We’ll show you the ropes, make sure you don’t get lost (probably), and welcome you into the fun. On the first Tuesday of every month, we tack on a post-run social hour for drinks and bites. This month we’re heading to 3Peaks Public House—because trail talk is even better over a pint.

TNT Group Run

Welcome to the TNT (Tuesday Night Trail) July Route! This month’s loop is a 4.2-mile route that features our usual mix of forest, runnable singletrack, and just enough elevation to keep things interesting.

TNT July Route – July 2025

Get ready for some twists, climbs, and choose-your-own-adventure fun—this month’s TNT route is packed with everything you love (and a few hidden gems if you're feeling clever).

We’ll kick things off down and back up to the South Ridge Loop, then head out South Ridge toward Carousel Hill. You’ll take it down the hill, loop around, and climb back up to Rabbit. From there, wind your way around Rabbit, then climb back up Carousel the way you came, and head back out South Ridge.

When you hit Stone Mill, here’s your fork in the trail:
➡️ Option A (Trail Sleuths Only): If you’re clever enough to find Love Bug, cut up to Stone Mill that way.
➡️ Option B: Take the 45th Parallel Stone Mill and head to Everson’s Cutoff, then loop once up and around Osbourne, and head back to the finish.

🟢 Base Route: ~3.6 miles
🟣 Want more? Add your own extensions with South Ridge, Carousel, or Rabbit combos.

Love Bug isn’t on any official maps, but if you know, you know. 😉
This route has shade, singletrack, climbing, and plenty of chances to test your trail legs.
